The Kai version of Buu comes across as way to childish and not threatening to the western audience,( due to different cultural perceptions). With that said, there are moments in all of the dubs, that are real head scratchers, and just not well thought out localisation.Į.G The Buu saga of Kai was rushed and not well thought out. If they had stuck with a direct translations when it first released, it would have not have had the same mass appeal to the general western audience. Localisations today, still do the same thing, for Better or worse. Unpopular opinion: but I think the OG Dub was good, and a more well thought out localisation overall.Yes, Goku’s character was more moralistic in O.G dub, but that was to make it suit the western audience, and.
